NGSA doesn't just develop softball players - we also develop umpires!Umpires for our House League are boys and girls in the 7th grade through high school age range, and it is an excellent job for them. Here are some details of the program:
- We provide all the training and equipment
- No experience is necessary, though at least a basic knowledge of baseball or softball is important
- No work permit is required (as long as they are in 7th grade or older)
- Umpires can pick and choose whichever and however many games they want to work
- Pay rate ranges from $25 to $50+ per game depending on various factors (games are typically 1.5 to 2 hours)
- Available games are on weeknights and Saturdays, in the spring (April & May) and again in the fall (September & October)
- Some of our House umpires have built experience and gone on to travel league umpiring, with even greater earning potential
